The Depot on Beaumont Street is your ultimate Newcastle venue for parties, functions and events. Your guests can enjoy quality food, fine wine and great service in contemporary, relaxed style. Centrally located in Hamilton’s vibrant Beaumont Street restaurant strip, we take care of every detail to help you celebrate birthdays, engagements, hens’ parties, weddings, work events and social gatherings.

We take bookings of all sizes, from couples looking for a romantic dining experience, to weddings with up to 250 guests:

- Our mezzanine level features a cocktail bar and lounge area, catering for up to 60 people.
- Our restaurant level features a large bar and lounge area, catering for up to 190 people.
- Both levels can be booked for exclusive use of the entire venue, catering for up to 250 people.

Fully licensed, we offer a selection of generous sharing platters, Spanish tapas dishes and modern Australian a la carte cuisine. Tempt your tastebuds and sneak a peek at some of our menu options:

meet the owners

Chad Taylor
Chad opened his first restaurant at the age of 21, after managing clubs in the Gold Coast and working in hospitality since the age of 18. Before launching The Depot, Chad was Operations Manager of Hunter Valley Restaurant Management Services for 8 years, catering for high-profile venues including City Hall, Civic Theatre and Harbour View Function Centre.

Adam Baker
Before teaming up with Chad to launch The Depot, Adam owned and operated the highly successful Newcastle Port Container Services. A fitter and turner by trade, Adam also worked previously as Operations Manager of a large shipping and container business in Sydney.

Shane Brunt
Shane Brunt is our Executive Chef, bringing expertise from high-profile restaurants at home and abroad. Shane began his career at Scratchleys Newcastle before finessing his skills in London at a restaurant owned by Anthony Worrall-Thompson. Shane has also worked as a Sous Chef under John Mark Pollet at Peppers Anchorage Resort, a Head Chef at Rive in Noosa, and a Private Chef in Latin America and Los Angeles.
